About the role We are looking for a Senior BI Engineer to design, build and maintain our business intelligence platform. You will be responsible for transforming data into trusted, actionable insights by developing semantic data models, defining business metrics and delivering intuitive dashboards. You will work closely with business stakeholders and Data Engineers to ensure reporting is accurate, scalable and aligned with business objectives. What you'll be doing Partner with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate business needs into scalable analytical solutions. Design, build and maintain dashboards and reports using Metabase. Define, document and maintain business metrics, KPIs and reporting standards across the organisation. Develop and optimise SQL queries for reporting and analytics. Design semantic data models and reporting datasets that enable self-service analytics. Validate data accuracy and ensure consistency across dashboards and reports. Investigate data discrepancies and drive issues through to resolution in collaboration with Data Engineers. Analyse business performance, identify trends and provide actionable insights and recommendations. Promote best practices in business intelligence, reporting and data visualisation. Maintain documentation for dashboards, metrics, business definitions and reporting processes. Drive adoption of business intelligence solutions by supporting stakeholders and promoting data-driven decision making. Contribute to the evolution of the analytics platform by identifying opportunities for improvements in reporting capabilities and data accessibility. What you'll bring 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering or a similar role. Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large analytical datasets. Strong experience building dashboards and reports using Metabase or a similar business intelligence platform. Experience working with Amazon Redshift and relational databases. Strong understanding of dimensional modelling and semantic layer design. Experience defining business metrics, KPIs and reporting standards. Ability to independently investigate business and data issues from identification through resolution. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Proactive mindset with strong ownership and accountability.
