Visit us at telescopeinnovations.com *Reporting structure and time-commitment* * Reports to VP, Research and Development * Full time * Indefinite term * In-person role at 301 - 2386 East Mall, Vancouver BC V6T 1Z3 *Position overview* Telescope Innovations is seeking an Intermediate Mechatronics Engineer to join our product development team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys taking complex products from concept through deployment and is comfortable working across mechanical, electrical, and embedded systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced laboratory automation equipment. Our products are typically low-to-medium volume, high-value scientific instruments that integrate precision mechanics, electronics, sensing, fluid handling, robotics, and embedded control systems. While the role spans multiple engineering disciplines, there is a particular emphasis on electronics design, PCB development, and embedded firmware development. This position offers the opportunity to work closely alongside chemists, software developers, data scientists, and automation specialists to develop innovative products for the pharmaceutical and advanced chemical manufacturing industries. *Job duties* Product development * Design, develop, and support new laboratory automation products from concept through commercialization * Participate in product architecture and technical decision-making for new hardware platforms * Develop engineering requirements, specifications, test plans, and design documentation * Contribute to continuous improvement of existing products and systems Electronics and embedded systems * Design analog and digital electronic circuits for laboratory instrumentation and automation systems * Design and review multi-layer PCBs using modern ECAD tools * Select and integrate microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, communication interfaces, and power electronics * Develop, test, and maintain embedded firmware for STM32-based systems * Implement communication protocols including SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, RS232/485, USB, and Ethernet where required * Debug hardware and firmware issues through structured testing and root-cause analysis * Support transition of designs from prototype to production Mechanical design and system integration * Develop mechanical designs and assemblies for laboratory automation equipment * Create CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation * Work with internal and external fabrication partners to manufacture and assemble prototypes * Integrate mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems into complete products * Perform design verification and validation activities Prototyping * Manufacture and assemble prototypes of designs and products * Operate FDM and SLA 3D printers * Safely use hand and power tools * Create wire harnesses and electronics prototypes * Rework PCB assemblies Testing and validation * Develop and execute test procedures for subsystems and complete products * Analyze test data and recommend design improvements * Troubleshoot electromechanical systems during development and deployment * Support reliability, performance, and safety testing Cross Location Vancouver , BC Work location On site Salary $ 100,000 to $ 140,000 YEAR annually Terms of employment Permanent employment Full time Starts as soon as possible vacancies 1 vacancy Source indeed.com #10236614247 Various locations Vancouver, BC

Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
