Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Work setting: Office of health care professional. Sports therapy. Rehabilitation centre and special health institution. Tasks: Assess patients' physical abilities. Assist health care professionals. Carry out treatment programs, under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists, to rehabilitate patients with various injuries or disabilities. Follow through on treatment programs with patients. Help physical therapists. Set up and dismantle equipment. Clean and maintain equipment. Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies. Select appropriate exercises, apparatus and manipulations. Maintain clinical and progress reports. Maintain inventory of equipment. Document patient rehabilitation progress. Teach and/or supervise exercises to patients. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Area of specialization: Physiotherapy. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Repetitive tasks. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Walking. Personal suitability: Punctuality. Client focus. Efficient interpersonal skills.
