Female HCA ? Dementia Care & Companion Support *Location:* SW Calgary, Alberta *Schedule:* Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evenings, approximately 4?6 hours per shift *Additional Opportunity:* Potential Sunday 8-hour daytime shift *Position:* Contract HCA *Wage: *start at $20 depending on experience & knowledge About the Position #1 AAA Homecare Services is seeking a *reliable, personable and experienced Female Health Care Aide (HCA)* to provide in-home support for a male client living in SW Calgary. The client has *Alzheimer's and a heart condition* and is looking for a caregiver who is warm, engaging and genuinely enjoys conversation and companionship. *Per the client's request, applicants must be female and 45 years of age or older.* Key Responsibilities * Provide companionship and engaging conversation * Assist with personal care as required * Prepare meals and snacks * Tidy and maintain the kitchen after meals * Complete laundry * Take the client's dog for walks (he might join) * Assist the client with errands and casual outings * Drive the client to appointments, errands or outings when required * Provide safe, attentive dementia care * Monitor and respond appropriately to the client's needs * Maintain a respectful, comfortable and safe home environment The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is: * *45 years of age or older* * Female, as specifically requested by the client * An experienced HCA with *extensive dementia-care experience* * Very personable, outgoing and naturally *chatty and conversational* * Fluent and clear in spoken English * Comfortable around dogs * Dependable, punctual and highly reliable * Comfortable driving a client for errands and casual outings * Compassionate, patient and respectful * Professional and able to maintain appropriate caregiver/client boundaries Requirements * Valid HCA certification/registration as applicable * Valid driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle * Willing and able to drive the client for errands and outings * *At least two recent caregiving references from the past two years* * Valid Vulnerable Sector Check * Background Check * Legally eligible to work in Canada / Canadian citizen * Previous experience working with clients with dementia Schedule *Monday:* Evening shift, 4?6 hours *Tuesday:* Evening shift, 4?6 hours *Wednesday:* Evening shift, 4?6 hours *Potential Sunday:* 8-hour daytime shift This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caregiver who enjoys building a genuine professional relationship with a client and values companionship just as much as hands-on care. *If you are dependable, warm, conversational and have extensive dementia-care experience, we would love to hear from you!* Please apply through Indeed with your resume and relevant caregiving experience.
