air conditioning and refrigeration mechanic

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Noisy. Cold/refrigerated. Work setting: On-site customer service. Tasks: Prepare tenders and quotations. Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components. Coach and instruct apprentices. Measure, cut and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment. Provide customer service. Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices. Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system. Handle, recover and store refrigerants. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Trade Certification. Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic Red Seal Certificate. Control systems: Energy conservation. Computerized monitoring. Electrical devices. Electronic and solid state. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Vehicle supplied by employer. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads.
