This position focuses on specialized surface preparation, application of liquid waterproofing systems, and membrane sealants on concrete and masonry backings. *Position Overview* *Company:* Dominion Masonry Ltd. *Work Location:* Burnaby, BC (and various job sites across Metro Vancouver) *Job Type:* Full-Time, Permanent *Hours:* 40 hours per week *Wage:* $35.00 to $39.00 per hour (negotiable depending on skills and experience) *Benefits:* Extended and dental plan *Number of Vacancies:* 3 *Language of Work:* English *Start Date:* As soon as possible *Key Duties & Responsibilities* * Inspect concrete and masonry surfaces to assess structural damage and prepare substrates using high-pressure washing, grinding, and surface chipping tools. * Level and smooth fresh or restored concrete using hand tools, power trowels, power screeds, and floats. * Apply specialized waterproofing, damp-proofing, and protective liquid coatings to structural concrete walls, floors, and masonry backings. * Cut expansion joints and apply joint sealants to accommodate structural movement and prevent water infiltration. * Apply curing, sealing, and hardening chemicals to protect restored masonry and concrete surfaces from erosion and freeze-thaw cycles. * Check elevations, pitch, and alignment against engineering drawings and project specifications using precision measuring tools. *Required Qualifications & Skills* * *Education:* Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience. * *Experience:* Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in specialized membrane application, surface preparation, and concrete finishing. * *Technical Knowledge:* Strong understanding of liquid membrane systems, elastomeric sealants, chemical surface treatments, and surface preparation techniques. * *Physical Capabilities:* Ability to perform physically demanding work (heavy lifting, bending, standing for extended periods) in outdoor construction environments. *How to Apply* Please submit your resume through one of the following methods: * *By Email: *wade@dominionmasonry.com * *By Mail:* Dominion Masonry Ltd., 7880 Venture Street, Burnaby, BC, V5A 1V3 Strictly *NO PHONE CALLS*.
