Notice of Employment OpportunityMillwrightABOUT THE ROLEThe Regional District of Nanaimo is seeking a temporary full-time Millwright with the Wastewater Services, based at GNPCC. The Millwright contributes to the effective operation of the RDN?s Wastewater Treatment Facilities through the inspection, maintenance, and repair of buildings, equipment and environmental protection infrastructure at these facilities and pump stations. This position supports the Wastewater department as required, to meet service expectations, departmental goals, and objectives.QUALIFICATIONSCompletion of an interprovincial Red Seal Millwright certification, with one (1) to three (3) years of related mechanical experience, preferably in a wastewater treatment facility. Possession of a valid Class 5 BC Driver?s licence is also required. POSITION DETAILSThis is a temporary full-time (40 hours per week) Union position for a period of six (6) months with the possibility of ending early or being extended based on operational needs. The (2026) rate of pay is $43.50 to $45.79, plus 12.4% in lieu of benefits including vacation and statutory holidays, or the uninterrupted continuation of their benefits package as provided for in the Collective Agreement between the Regional District of Nanaimo and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 401.To apply for this position, send your cover letter and resume to rdncareers@rdn.bc.ca.
