Position PhilosophyUnder the direction or supervision of the Support Services Supervisor the Housekeeper is responsible for creating a human habitat and providing care and services to meet the needs of the elders in the cottages. The Housekeeper works cooperatively and respectfully with residents, coworkers, families, visitors and volunteers to create a positive and pleasant environment in our community.Position DescriptionReporting to the Support Services Supervisor, the Housekeeper is responsible for housekeeping in a retirement community. Also responsible for ensuring resident well being and safety.Responsibilities:Provides housekeeping services in the resident care rooms and common areas in accordance with the established work routines.To ensure residents are provided with a secure living environment, patrols the building and investigates building access violations in accordance with established policies and procedures.Performs other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:Successful completion of secondary school or equivalentInstitutional Cleaning experienceAbility to read and communicate effectively in EnglishDemonstrated empathy and understanding of the needs of continuing care residentsEffective interpersonal and conflict resolution skillAbility to organize work and work under strict time constraints.Working ConditionsPhysical Demands - Long periods of time spent standing and walking while patrolling the building. Bending, stretching and lifting while cleaning and providing laundry services.Mental Demands - Required to remain alert and pay attention to detailWorking Environment - The work performed in a retirement community. At times there are requirements to clean up after unpleasant accidents and spills.Hours of WorkRosecrest Communities provides service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
