The Road Safety Division at the Department of Public Works is responsible for the administration of drivers and vehicles in the province. We are responsible for the policies, legislation, and regulations that guide Road Safety in our province. We operate in a proactive regulatory environment. About Our Opportunity The Alcohol Ignition Interlock Representative is responsible for administering and facilitating Nova Scotia's Interlock program. This work is conducted within a regulatory environment with decisions and actions being governed by the provincial Motor Vehicle Act and associated regulations. We operate in a fast-paced environment where the decisions you make have a direct impact on clients. Confidentiality is of utmost importance too, given the sensitive information you will encounter on a regular basis. Primary Accountabilities As the Alcohol Ignition Interlock Representative, you are responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Alcohol Ignition Interlock Program and are relied upon to have broad knowledge of the program and associated legislation and regulations. You will respond to a high volume of telephone inquiries and require your strong multi-tasking skills to manage multiple interruptions and help keep our goals on track.
