Qualfications Education: Post-secondary diploma in Business, Finance, Human Resources or related field required with specialization in payroll/compensation preferred. Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) certification with the National Payroll Institute required. Certified Human Resources Professional designation an asset. Experience: 3-5 years of experience in payroll, benefits and pension administration. Overall Purpose This position is solely responsible for administering full cycle hourly and salary payroll, benefits, and pension for all Library staff. Responsible for the on-going maintenance of the HRIS. This position provides front-line support to staff, managers and senior leaders within the scope of payroll, benefits, and pension administration. Key Accountabilities: Responsible for processing full-cycle bi-weekly payroll (salary and hourly) in a computerized environment. Processing includes audit, interpret, verify and calculate information/documentation to update and administer the employee database. Ensure all detailed data entry is accurate and audit the pay for every employee; checking earnings and deductions to ensure data integrity, system setup, and payroll administration continues with a high degree of accuracy. Responsible for the onboarding and maintenance of staff into benefit programs and pension plan. Maintain compliance with Canadian payroll legislation and statutory requirements including CPP, EI, income tax deductions, WSIB requirements and ROE administration. Update and maintain the integrity of the HRIS (Dayforce), which includes, but is not limited to, initial system setup and supporting employment changes throughout the employment life cycle.
