Our team of experienced attorneys is committed to fighting for the rights of our clients and helping them obtain the compensation they deserve. *Position Overview*: We are seeking a talented and experienced HR Manager to join our team. The HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources management within the firm, including recruitment, payroll, team member relations, performance management, training and development, compliance, and HR strategy development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR management, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a passion for fostering a positive and productive work environment. *Key Responsibilities:* _Recruitment and Staffing_: Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, resume screening, interviewing, and onboarding new team members. Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent to the firm. Work closely with department heads to identify staffing needs and develop workforce plans. _Payroll:_ Manage various tasks related to ensuring accurate and timely payment of salaries and wages to team members. These responsibilities include payroll processing for approx. 60 employees, 2 payrolls (Payworks), team member data management, tax compliance, benefits admin, record keeping and reporting. _Employee Relations_: Serve as a trusted advisor to team members and management on HR-related issues. Handle team member grievances and conduct investigations as needed. Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote a positive work culture and foster team member engagement. _Performance Management:_ Oversee the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and coaching. Develop new programs where necessary to ensure it meets the needs of the firm. Provide guidance and support to managers and team members on performance-related matters. Identify opportunities for training and development to enhance employee performance and career growth. Provide input/guidance on current salary and bonus structure. _Training and Development:_ Develop and implement training programs to enhance team member skills and knowledge. Coordinate with external trainers and vendors to deliver specialized training sessions as needed. Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement. _Compliance:_ Ensure compliance with provincial employment laws and regulations. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of HR best practices and legal requirements. Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risk. Head up the Health & Safety Committee to ensure full compliance with laws and regulations. _HR Strategy Development:_ Collaborate with senior management to develop HR strategies and initiatives that support the firm's goals and objectives. Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the HR function. Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on HR metrics and initiatives. *Qualifications:* Bachelor?s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment. Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with employees at all levels. Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
