Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Outdoors. Work setting: Construction. Renovation. Commercial. Residential. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites. Instruct apprentices. Supervise other workers. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Carpenter Trade Certification. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Work with minimal supervision. Personal suitability: Accurate. Efficient interpersonal skills. Reliability.
