Key elements of this role include:As a member of the Substation Maintenance team:You must develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of the purpose and operation of all electrical/electronic equipment related to substations, including PLC's, solid state relaying, remote SCADA telemetry and all associated protection equipment. You must also develop and maintain a strong electrical and mechanical working knowledge of substation transformers, breakers, reclosers, switches, and various other substation equipment. You will perform all aspects of installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of electrical/electronic substation equipment on the Transmission/Distribution System (e.g. reclosers, breakers, transformers, controls, protective relays, telecommunication).You will be required to assist with the operation of the NSP electrical transmission system related to switching and isolation of transmission lines for maintenance or other operational requirements.You may be required to travel throughout the province for work related to maintenance, reliability and customer restoration.You will be required to assist with emergency / storm related power restoration.You may be temporarily assigned to other locations to assist other areas when required and will be expected to travel throughout the province.You will be required to participate in regulatory training and be willing to participate in on-the-job training or training programs that support the development of additional skills.You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.Your primary residence must be located within 30 minutes of the work location Depot, and you will be required to take on call rotation and work other than normal hours and/or in extreme conditions.You will have 90 days to provide proof of primary residence.This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
