DeFord Contracting Inc. is looking for an _experienced and hardworking_ *Asphalt Raker *for Civil Construction city projects in and around the Greater Edmonton Area. DeFord Contracting Inc. offers top wages based on experience, a comprehensive benefits package (extended healthcare, dental care, vision care, life insurance, employee assistance program, etc.), company events (including holiday parties and summer BBQ?s), and a team-oriented environment, all within a very supportive and positive working environment. *Responsibilities: * * Rake and spread asphalt evenly and efficiently to desired thickness and grade * Assist with site preparation, demolition, and material removal * Maintain a clean and organized work site * Work closely with machine operators to maintain accurate grade levels * Manually prepare areas inaccessible by machinery * Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and procedures *Qualifications: * * Minimum 2+ years of experience in asphalt paving * Previous experience in the civil construction industry required * Experience in grading and reading civil/structural drawings preferred * Ability to operate small engine equipment * Physically fit and able to lift 50 to 60 pounds * Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable transportation; _Class 3 considered an asset_ * Willingness to work long hours, including overtime during peak season * Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions _DeFord Contracting Inc. is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment, where all of our employees and customers feel valued, respected, and supported.
