The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial records across multiple legal entities. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong hands-on bookkeeping experience, advanced excel skills (i.e. Power Query, pivot tables, macros etc.), the ability to manage competing priorities, and a solid understanding of multi-entity accounting and period end close processes. What You'll Be Doing Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across multiple entities, ensuring proper segregation, consistency, and integrity while processing high volume daily transactions. Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including: Accounts receivable. Bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations. Vendor reconciliations. Related party reconciliations. Journal entries and general ledger maintenance. Support month-end and year-end close processes across all entities. Prepare and review intercompany transactions and reconciliations. Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations. Assist with financial reporting, including internal management reports. Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors as required. Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed. Respond to finance-related inquiries from internal stakeholders. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in business, finance or similar field. 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience. Professional accounting designation or progress toward one is an asset. Demonstrated experience supporting multiple legal entities. Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar). Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
