*About Us* We are a locally owned and operated independent community pharmacy dedicated to providing personalized healthcare and exceptional service. Our close-knit team is committed to maintaining a welcoming, professional, and supportive environment for both staff and patients. *Job Description* We are seeking a Registered Pharmacy Technician to support the safe and efficient operation of our community pharmacy. The successful candidate will use their professional knowledge and technical skills to assist with prescription processing, medication preparation, inventory management, and patient service while working collaboratively with pharmacists and other team members. *Approximately 34 hours per week. Saturdays are required. Applications will only be accepted online.* Key Responsibilities * Accurately enter, prepare, package, and label prescriptions. * Perform the final technical check of prescriptions within the authorized scope of a Registered Pharmacy Technician. * Identify and resolve technical prescription issues, referring clinical matters to the pharmacist when appropriate. * Process prescription transfers, receive verbal prescriptions, and complete other regulated duties within the technician?s authorized scope. * Maintain accurate patient, prescription, third-party billing, and insurance information. * Communicate professionally with patients, prescribers, insurance providers, and other healthcare professionals. * Assist patients at prescription pickup and respond to non-clinical questions. * Process prescription payments and operate the cash register when required. * Manage medication inventory, including ordering, receiving, checking expiry dates, completing inventory counts, and maintaining appropriate stock levels. * Prepare compliance packs and other medication-adherence packaging. * Maintain accurate documentation and support pharmacy quality-assurance procedures. * Protect patient confidentiality and comply with all applicable pharmacy legislation, standards, policies, and procedures. * Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pharmacy workspace. * Support pharmacy assistants and contribute to a respectful, team-oriented work environment. * Prepare non-sterile compounded medications accurately in accordance with established formulations, procedures, and applicable standards. * Maintain complete compounding records and ensure equipment and compounding areas are properly cleaned, organized, and maintained. *Qualifications* * Registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists is required. * Professional liability insurance and all other requirements necessary to practise in Ontario must be maintained. * Previous community pharmacy experience is required. * Proficiency with Fillware pharmacy software is an asset. * Strong knowledge of prescription processing, third-party billing, inventory management, and pharmacy workflow. * Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. * Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills. * Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. * Ability to work independently within the authorized scope of practice while collaborating effectively with the pharmacy team. * Experience with compliance packaging is an asset. *Why Join Us?* * Competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience. * Consistent hours in an independent community-pharmacy setting. * Opportunity to use the full technical scope of a Registered Pharmacy Technician. * Supportive, close-knit, and collaborative team environment. * Opportunities for professional development and career growth. * A workplace that values your skills, judgment, and contributions to patient care.
