*Gardiner Park Child-Care Inc.* is looking for a reliable and enthusiastic *Temporary Cook* to join our team and cover a medical leave for approximately *4 months*. *Position Details* * *Position:* Temporary Childcare Cook * *Duration:* Approximately 4 months * *Hours:* Monday?Friday 7:00am-3:00pm * *Start Date: *Tuesday, September 8th, 2026 * *Location:* Gardiner Park Child-Care Inc. *Responsibilities* * Prepare and serve nutritious, well-balanced meals and snacks for the children. * Follow our centre's menu and accommodate children's dietary restrictions and allergies. * Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen. * Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures. * Complete daily kitchen cleaning and sanitation duties. * Maintain accurate food and kitchen supply inventories and communicate when supplies need to be ordered. * Work cooperatively with the childcare team. * Ensure meals and snacks are prepared and served according to the centre's schedule. * Follow all applicable childcare licensing, health, and food-safety requirements. *Qualifications* * Previous cooking experience is preferred. * Experience working in a childcare, school, healthcare, or similar setting is an asset. * Food safety training/certification is a MUST. * Must be dependable, organized, and able to work independently. * Must be comfortable working in a busy childcare environment. * Must be able to follow allergy and dietary requirements carefully. * A clear criminal record check/vulnerable sector check and other required childcare documentation will be required. *What We Offer* * Monday?Friday daytime hours * No evening or weekend shifts * A friendly and supportive team environment * The opportunity to work in a fun and rewarding childcare setting If you enjoy cooking and would love the opportunity to prepare meals for children while being part of a supportive childcare team, we would love to hear from you!
