Career growth opportunities Responsibilities: Oversee the general accounting function for the Environmental Group, ensuring accurate and timely maintenance of the general ledger, reconciliations, subledgers, and fixed asset registers. Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing insightful analysis and recommendations to business leaders and senior management. Coordinate and prepare annual budgets and forecasts, partnering with business units to understand financial drivers, risks, and opportunities. Prepare and file applicable government and sales tax filings, while supporting corporate tax reporting as required. Develop and deliver ad hoc financial reports and analysis to support management decision-making and respond to business and Finance department requests. Prepare audit working papers, respond to auditor inquiries, and provide accurate and timely information to support an efficient audit process. Attend operating, financial review, and management meetings, providing financial guidance, insight, and support to operational and senior leadership teams. Implement, monitor, and document effective financial controls, processes, and systems to safeguard the integrity of the general ledger and financial reporting. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, controls, and workflows, driving greater efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across the business. Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and service excellence. Qualifications: College diploma or university degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline CPA designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA) required At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities Strong knowledge of Canadian accounting principles and financial reporting standards Experience preparing financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, budgets, forecasts, and audit working papers Corporate tax experience an asset Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial reporting systems Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build credibility at all levels of the organization Strong organizational and time-management skills, comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Proven leadership and interpersonal skills, including Location Vaughan , ON Work location On site Salary $ 100,000.00 to $ 110,000.00 HOUR hourly Terms of employment Full time Starts as soon as possible vacancies 1 vacancy Source Talent.com #634357023755011888 Various locations Vaughan, ON
