*Woodhouse Contracting Inc. | Kitchener, ON* *$85,000?$100,000 per year | Full-time, Permanent* Woodhouse Contracting is looking for an experienced *Construction Estimator* to join our General Contracting team in Kitchener, supporting commercial and institutional construction tenders across Southwestern Ontario. This role is suited to an estimator who can manage multiple tenders, review drawings and specifications, complete quantity take-offs, solicit and level subcontractor pricing, identify scope gaps and risks, and bring competitive bids through to final submission. *What You'll Do* * Manage multiple construction tenders concurrently, prioritizing deadlines while maintaining accuracy. * Review drawings, specifications, tender documents and project requirements to confirm scope. * Prepare quantity take-offs, budgets, cost estimates and tender pricing for labour, materials, equipment and subcontracted work. * Solicit, review and level subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure complete and competitive coverage. * Identify scope gaps, exclusions, constructability concerns, value-engineering opportunities and project risks before submission. * Develop complete bids and proposals that meet tender requirements and deadlines. * Attend site visits, tender meetings and pre-construction meetings as required. * Maintain organized estimating files and support the handoff of successful bids to project teams. *What We're Looking For* Our priority is demonstrated construction estimating experience and the ability to independently manage a busy tender workload. The ideal candidate will have: * Approximately 5+ years of progressive construction estimating experience, ideally within a General Contractor environment. * Strong experience estimating commercial and institutional construction projects. * Ability to manage multiple tenders with competing deadlines. * Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work and tender documents. * Experience completing detailed quantity take-offs, construction estimates, and subcontractor/supplier pricing reviews. * Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, labour requirements, subcontractor scopes, scope gaps and project risks. * Excellent organization, communication and attention to detail when working with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, clients and internal project teams. * Proficiency with construction estimating software, digital take-off tools and Microsoft Office; experience with platforms such as Premier, Bluebeam, BuildingConnected or similar tools is an asset. * A diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, Quantity Surveying or a related field is an asset.
