CAD (computer-aided design) technologist

Education: Bachelor's degree. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Prepare engineering designs and drawings. Read blueprints to determine work requirements . Train new drafting personnel. Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates. Write technical reports. Write specifications. Estimate costs and materials. Complete documentation packages and drawing sets. Examine drawings for conformity and errors. Consult with client, engineers or production specialists to establish product requirements. Analyze dynamics and vibrations of mechanical systems and structures. Create two-dimensional (2-D) drawings with computer-aided design (CAD). Create three-dimensional (3-D) models with computer-aided design (CAD). Computer and technology knowledge: Internet. Desktop applications. Word processing software. Database software. Computer-aided design (CAD). AutoCAD. Autodesk Inventor. MS Office. Spreadsheet. Transportation/travel information: Willing to travel. Travel expenses paid by employer.
