*We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Subcontractor Carpenter. Assisting supervisors with structural design, planning, layout, and installation. Designing and installation of lumber, staircases, molding, cabinets, shelves, etc. Adding fittings and fixtures including door handles, hinges, locks, and closures. Selecting materials as per the requirements of the project and sourcing wood that fits within budget and meets style specifications. Working with suppliers to obtain necessary materials. Consulting other construction professionals to ensure the best possible results and the final product. Reading blueprints and designs prepared by other architects and construction professionals, and ensuring they meet building code recommendations and requirements. Ability to operate tools, machines, and other equipment. Compliance with local building codes and health and safety regulations. Providing excellent customer service. Ability to stand for prolonged periods, climb, pull, and lift heavy objects. Carving and building kitchen cabinets, siding, drywall, and furniture. Checking existing sketches and blueprints to understand project requirements. Calculating, shaping, cutting, and smoothing materials. Conducting inspections, maintenance, and fixing structures. Confirming flooring, roofing, and drywall are level and compatible. Receiving direction from the project manager as directed. *Qualifications* Must have own vehicle, tools, and equipment. Minimum 5 years of experience verifiable through references. Must carry their own Liability Insurance and Workers Comp (WSIB). Must be willing to undergo and pass a criminal background check. Knowledge of all the applicable health and safety standards. Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the trade. Skill in estimating time and material requirements for work projects. Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment, as necessary. Deadline and detail-oriented. Ability to independently solve problems. Customer service-oriented, you like getting a job done right. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a smartphone and basic computer skills since that?s how we dispatch our orders. Exceptional customer service skills. Highly organized and self-motivated. Quality conscious and detail-oriented. Must be clean and tidy. Successfully completed formal carpentry apprenticeship. Strong physical condition and excellent hand dexterity. We prefer if you have a high school diploma or GED. In-depth knowledge of carpentry tools, materials, and techniques.
