The corporate head office is in Toronto, Ontario with manufacturing sites in Canada and the US. The Assistant Controller is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company across Canadian and U.S. entities. *This is a hands-on operational role* responsible for financial reporting, month-end close, consolidations, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, bank covenant reporting, payroll processing, audit coordination, tax compliance support, and ERP-related process improvements. The successful candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, experience working in a multi-entity environment, knowledge of U.S. GAAP, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role requires someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, collaborative, and willing to roll up their sleeves to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. *KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:* *Financial Reporting & Month-End Close* * Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. * Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for Canadian and U.S. entities. * Prepare monthly financial reporting packages, including variance analysis and commentary. * Assist in the preparation of board reporting packages and supporting financial analysis. * Ensure accounting records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with U.S. GAAP and company policies. * Provide assistance with product costing as required *Consolidation & Intercompany Accounting* * Prepare monthly and annual consolidations for multiple Canadian and U.S. entities. * Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances. * Prepare intercompany eliminations and consolidation entries. * Ensure adequate accounting treatment of cross-border transactions and foreign exchange impacts. *Budgeting & Forecasting* * Coordinate the annual budgeting process across departments and business units. * Consolidate budgets and financial forecasts for all entities. * Assist department managers with budget preparation and financial planning. * Monitor actual results against budget and forecast and explain material variances. * Support ongoing financial analysis and reporting requirements. *Treasury, Cash Flow & Banking* * Prepare and maintain weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts. * Monitor cash balances and working capital requirements. * Prepare monthly and quarterly bank covenant calculations and compliance reporting. * Coordinate lender reporting requirements and supporting documentation. * Assist with banking administration and treasury-related activities. *Payroll Administration* * Prepare, process, and reconcile semi-monthly payroll for Canadian and U.S. employees. * Ensure compliance with all payroll-related legislation and reporting requirements. * Review year-end payroll reporting, including T4s, T4As, W-2s, and related filings. * Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies. *Audit, Tax & Compliance* * Coordinate annual financial statement audits and other accounting engagements * Act as the primary liaison with external auditors during audit engagements. * Review corporate income tax return packages and supporting schedules for Canadian and U.S. entities prior to filing. * Support sales tax, payroll tax, and other regulatory compliance requirements. * Assist in Location Etobicoke , ON Work location On site Salary $ 115,000 to $ 135,000 YEAR annually Terms of employment Permanent employment Full time Starts as soon as possible vacancies 1 vacancy Source indeed.com #10239650146 Various locations Etobicoke, ON
