*FOOD & BEVERAGE SERVER* _*Job Summary*_ Provide food and beverage service to the Club?s Membership and their guests in our private Member?s Lounge as well as our Club?s guests attending/hosting a function in our banquet facility, i.e weddings, golf tournaments, birthday parties, baby showers etc. *Pay:* $17.60 per hour *Start date:* ASAP *Schedule*: Requires a variety of availability- days(strongest need), evenings, weekends and some holidays *Transportation*: West Haven is not located on a bus route. Employees must have their own reliable transportation. _*Experience*_ Proof of Smart Serve certification is required. Service experience - especially in a catering/events setting - is considered a strong asset, however thorough training will be provided to all successful applicants. Must be able to stand for long periods, utilize stairs, bend and carry items as well as lift up to 25lbs. _*Job Tasks Include(but not limited too):*_ * Provides immediate attention to all members and guests upon entry * Distributes food and wine menus; answers questions; delivers meals per event contract * Takes members? and guests? orders; suggestively sells food and beverage items, if appropriate * Places order with kitchen; informs Chef about any special cooking instructions * Will bring to the table all necessary cutlery and condiments * Serves meals * Checks back to ensure member and guest satisfaction * Remove soiled dishes * Handles all cash and credit card charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures * Keep tables, dining room and bus station areas clean. Sweeping, vacuuming, dusting * Clean and refill condiment sets for each table * Polish all cutlery and glassware when it comes out of the dishwasher * Set up venue according to event contract. Will require bending, lifting and carrying of tables and chairs, linens, cutlery, glassware etc. * Tear down according to closing duties as outlined, resetting for next event * Performs opening/closing duties as assigned by the Manager West Haven Golf and Country Club is an equal opportunity employer.
