Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Work setting: Maintenance. Repair. Testing. Tasks: Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment. Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators and other electro-mechanical equipment. Use machining tools to fabricate or recondition parts. Replace or recondition shafts, bearings, commutators and other components. Weld or braze components. Wind, assemble and install various types of coils. Perform on-site servicing and repair. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Physically demanding. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Own tools/equipment: Safety equipment/gear. Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years.
