*Company profile* Cavvy Energy is a Canadian energy company headquartered in Calgary, Alberta. Through several corporate and asset acquisitions the Company has grown into a significant upstream and midstream producer with assets concentrated in the Canadian Foothills, producing conventional natural gas, NGLs, condensate and sulphur. Management is excited about Cavvy?s opportunities and prospects within our existing asset base in the Canadian Foothills; during the past year Cavvy has strategically refocused on sustaining and growing its upstream exploration and production (?E&P?) and midstream business. Our objective is to continue Cavvy?s pivot toward growing a sustainable and profitable conventional Foothills oil and natural gas business while continuing to explore opportunities to diversify market access for the products we produce. *The Opportunity* We are looking for a Gas Plant Operator to join our Operations team at our Waterton Gas Plant. In this your role, you will provide direct guidance and support to operating staff and contractors to consistently meet or exceed expectations in the following areas: production; operating costs; corporate values; environment, health and safety, training; regulatory; and emergency response while in care and control of the facility. This is a field-based role with frequent work in open environments with extremes of heat and cold, often in proximity to high voltage and/or chemicals which require safety precautions such as protective clothing and equipment. This shift-based role is structured on rotating 12-hour shifts and is subject to callouts for covering other operator absences, work associated with abnormal field operations, and/or emergency response activities. This is a safety-sensitive role that may be subject to testing to ensure fitness to work. *Key Responsibilities* Operations Monitoring & Control * Safely and efficiently operate a 1st?class sour gas plant with fractionation, stabilization, deep?cut, sulfur recovery, and associated utilities. * Operate and monitor equipment such as compressors, pumps, valves, and heat exchangers. * Operate power boilers in compliance with regulatory requirements. * Regulate flow, pressure, and temperature of gas streams to maintain optimal performance. Process Management * Conduct plant start-ups and shutdowns following operating procedures. * Sample and test gas streams to ensure meet specifications. * Monitor gas quality and take corrective actions as required. Maintenance & Troubleshooting * Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance activities. * Identify and troubleshoot operational issues to reduce downtime. * Coordinate with maintenance teams for major work. Safety & Compliance * Meet applicable WHMIS, ABSA, ASME regulatory requirements. * Follow all Cavvy safety procedures and participate in safety drills. * Maintain accurate logs and documentation for regulatory compliance. * Participate in risk assessments, safety meetings and mechanical integrity programs. Communication & Reporting * Record operational data in logs and digital systems (e.g., Maximo). * Communicate plant status and issues to supervisors and internal teams. * Report incidents, equipment concerns and operational anomalies promptly. * Respond professionally to public inquiries related to site activities. *Qualifications & Experience* Education & Experience * Minimum 2 years? experience in gas processing operations (sour gas preferred). * Minimum 4th Class Power Engineering Certificate (3rd or 2nd Class preferred). * Valid Canadian Class 5 driver?s licence with a clean abstract. * Current certification in H2S Alive, First Aid, WHMIS, TDG.
