As a Lead Hand - Parks Infrastructure, you?ll oversee a small but mighty team to tackle exciting projects such as park renovations, asset replacement, welding, landscaping, and irrigation installations. You?ll also coordinate with contractors and ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and to the highest standards.Your technical skills, leadership abilities, and knack for problem-solving will be put to great use as you help create and maintain spaces that Coquitlam residents love and enjoy.What You?ll Be Doing Lead and Inspire Guide a team in carrying out maintenance, repair, and construction projects. Collaborate and Coordinate Work closely with contractors and other departments to ensure seamless project execution. Build and Maintain Get hands-on with tasks like carpentry, welding, landscaping, and irrigation installation. Stay Organized Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to keep records, track progress, and manage budgets. Champion Safety Ensure all work meets safety standards and protocols.Minimum QualificationsKnowledge and Expertise Mastery of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the trade. Understanding of workplace hazards and safety precautions. Ability to interpret blueprints, diagrams, and sketches with ease.Leadership Skills A proven track record of supervising, training, and motivating teams. Ability to independently perform certified trades work and oversee others doing the same.Certifications and Licenses Red Seal B.C. T.Q. in Carpentry or Landscape Horticulture. B.C.W.W.A. Cross Connection Control Certificate. Valid Driver's License for the Province of British Columbia.The ideal candidate has completed Grade 12, a recognized apprenticeship in a related trade, and has solid experience in the field. An equivalent combination of training and experience will also be considered.
