Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Operate heavy equipment. Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks. Measure distance, volume, length and weight. Complete onboard and other logs. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment. Perform minor repairs to equipment. Operate hydraulic pumping systems. Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications. Type of heavy equipment operated: John Deere controls.
