Join the team and apply today! *Responsibilities* *Financial Reporting* * Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. * Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and compliant with applicable accounting standards. * Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections. * Provide management with financial analysis and insights to support business decisions. * Coordinate year-end financial reporting and external audit activities. *Accounting Operations* * Manage all day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations. * Oversee month-end and year-end close processes. * Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation. * Maintain and improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls. * Ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and chart of accounts. *Internal Controls and Compliance* * Develop, implement, and monitor effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting. * Ensure compliance with relevant tax, financial, and regulatory requirements. * Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, and other professional service providers. * Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate corrective actions. *Budgeting and Financial Planning* * Assist in the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts. * Monitor actual financial performance against budgets and fore.casts. * Analyze significant variances and provide explanations and recommendations to management. * Support long-term financial planning and business growth initiatives. *Leadership and Process Improvement* * Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff. * Establish departmental goals, priorities, and performance expectations. * Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting systems, and operational efficiency. * Support the implementation and optimization of accounting and financial software systems. * Collaborate with other departments to improve financial controls and business processes. *Qualifications* * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. * CPA designation preferred or required, depending on organizational needs. * Minimum of 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory or management experience. * Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. * Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes. * Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. * Experience working with external auditors and tax advisors is an asset. *Key Skills and Compentencies* * Strong leadership and people management skills. * Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail. * Strong organizational and time-management skills. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Sound judgment, integrity, and a strong understanding of confidentiality. * Ability to translate financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholder Location Mississauga , ON Work location On site Salary $ 80,000 to $ 120,000 YEAR annually Terms of employment Permanent employment Full time Starts as soon as possible vacancies 1 vacancy Source indeed.com #10239395745 Various locations Mississauga, ON
