National Rent-to-Own is looking for a reliable, careful and customer-focused delivery driver to join our Ottawa team. This is not a parcel-delivery position. You will be delivering, setting up and picking up furniture, appliances and electronics in customers? homes. We need someone who takes pride in doing the job properly?protecting the customer?s home, handling merchandise carefully and leaving every delivery area clean and organized. If you have proven Ottawa driving, furniture delivery, moving, assembly or appliance-installation experience, we want to hear from you. We will also consider someone with the right attitude, good common sense and a genuine willingness to learn. Position * Full-time or part-time * Monday to Friday * Regular hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. * Some flexibility is required when deliveries run beyond the regular schedule * In-person position based at 1721 Bank Street, Ottawa What You?ll Do * Safely drive a delivery truck throughout Ottawa and the surrounding area * Plan and follow delivery routes and instructions * Load, secure, deliver and pick up furniture, appliances and electronics * Carry merchandise through customers? homes without damaging walls, floors, doors, stairways or the products * Use moving blankets, straps, dollies and other delivery equipment properly * Keep your hands, equipment and moving blankets clean?especially when handling white or light-coloured furniture * Assemble basic furniture, including beds, chairs, dining tables, coffee tables and end tables * Safely operate a refrigerator/appliance cart * Deliver and position refrigerators, electric stoves, washers and dryers * Plug in refrigerators, electric stoves and electric dryers * Connect washer fill hoses and drain hoses and check carefully for leaks * Deliver and set up televisions and other electronics when required * Treat every customer, home and piece of merchandise with care and respect * Keep the delivery truck, equipment, warehouse and work area clean and organized * Report damage, delivery concerns or equipment problems promptly * Assist with other store and warehouse duties between deliveries What We?re Looking For * Valid driver?s licence and an acceptable driving record * Comfortable and confident driving a delivery truck in Ottawa traffic * Good knowledge of Ottawa and the surrounding area * Physically capable of safely lifting and moving heavy furniture and appliances with a partner * Basic mechanical ability and confidence using common hand tools * Experience assembling furniture and connecting household appliances * Good judgment, common sense and close attention to detail * Dependable, punctual and able to follow instructions * Professional, respectful and patient when working in customers? homes * Able to work independently and as part of a team * Willing to keep the truck, tools and workplace clean * Able to provide a current driver?s abstract if requested Furniture, appliance, moving or delivery experience is strongly preferred. Additional consideration may be given to candidates with proven Ottawa-area driving, furniture assembly or appliance-installation experience.
