The Finance Manager is responsible for financial reporting, budget preparation and monitoring, funding administration, cash flow tracking, audit coordination, payroll oversight, and financial analysis. Working closely with the Director, Finance & Operations and the Manager, Accounting & IT, the position helps ensure accurate financial information, compliance with funding requirements, and effective financial processes. The Finance Manager serves as a key resource to the Director, Finance & Operations by providing timely financial information, analysis, and support that contribute to effective planning, decision-making, and financial management. *Responsibilities* * Prepares annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the Director, Finance & Operations and project leaders. * Monitors organizational and project financial performance and prepares variance analyses and financial reports. * Maintains cash flow forecasts and identifies significant variances or emerging issues. * Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management, funders, the Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors. * Supports project managers in monitoring project budgets, expenditures, forecasts, and funding utilization. * Prepares funder claims, financial reports, and supporting documentation in accordance with funding requirements. * Coordinates the annual audit process and works with external auditors to provide required information and documentation. * Prepares government filings, remittances, and regulatory reporting requirements. * Monitors compliance with funding agreements, financial policies, and applicable legislation. * Supports payroll and benefits administration oversight, including payroll reconciliations, vacation accruals, T4/T4A reconciliations, and year-end reporting requirements. * Reviews financial reconciliations, working papers, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness. * Collaborates with the Manager, Accounting & IT to support effective financial operations, reporting, and compliance activities. * Identifies opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting practices, and internal controls. * Provides financial information and analysis to support management, project teams, and organizational decision-making. * Contributes to special projects and initiatives as required. While the majority of work is conducted during regular business hours, occasional meetings and work outside standard working hours may be required. *Education / Experience* * Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field. * Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in accounting, financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. * Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong initiative, sound judgment, and attention to detail. * Ability to work effectively in a growing, dynamic, and collaborative team environment. * Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and communication skills. * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with Sage 50 and experience working in a not-for-profit or government-funded environment are considered assets. *What MiHR Has to Offer* * Competitive salary * Competitive benefits package * Group RRSP matching * 3 weeks vacation * Opportunity to contribute to meaningful work that supports Canada's mining workforce *Schedule* * 7.5 hour work day * Monday to Friday * Primarily office-based role with flexibility as operational r Location Kanata , ON Work location On site Salary $ 60,000 to $ 80,000 YEAR annually Terms of employment Full time Starts as soon as possible vacancies 1 vacancy Source indeed.com #10239308405 Various locations Kanata, ON
