Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. Kinesiology and exercise science. Physical therapy technician/assistant. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Geriatrics. Tasks: Carry out treatment programs, under the direction of physiotherapists and/or occupational therapists, to rehabilitate patients with various injuries or disabilities. Follow through on treatment programs with patients. Clean and maintain equipment. Prepare and maintain equipment and supplies. Maintain clinical and progress reports. Document patient rehabilitation progress. Process files and paperwork. Schedule and confirm appointments. Teach and/or supervise exercises to patients. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : CPR Certificate. First Aid Certificate. Medical specialization: Kinesiology or human kinetics. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Bending, crouching, kneeling.
