About the role.McCain Foods Canada is seeking a General Operator to join the team at the Grand Falls Plant on a 6-month temporary contract. This role is essential in supporting safe and efficient plant operations while maintaining product quality and compliance standards. The General Operator will contribute to equipment operation, material handling, and continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced production environment. This role follows a rotating shift schedule of 4 days on (2 day shifts and 2 night shifts) followed by 4 days off. What you’ll be doing.Ensure the safety of yourself and your co-workers at all timesPerform material handling tasks, including lifting and moving 19 kg boxes and bagsFollow changeover procedures and meet production requirementsSupport sanitation and housekeeping duties as requiredTroubleshoot, adjust, and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performanceAdhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Critical Control Points (CCPs)Contribute to SQCDPE targets and support KPI achievementFollow Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and participate in STEP safety programsIdentify and help resolve production issues in a fast-paced team environmentParticipate in team meetings, training, and required e-learning courses What you’ll need to be successful.Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidaysStrong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate effectivelyReliable attendance and a strong work ethicBasic computer skills are considered an assetStrong mathematical skills and ability to accurately complete production documentationEffective verbal and written communication skillsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independentlyDemonstrated initiative, adaptability, and a positive attitudeAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, continuously changing environmentWillingness to learn and operate lift trucks (experience is an asset)Proven commitment to safety with a strong safety record About the team.You will be part of the Grand Falls Plant production team, working closely with supervisors and fellow operators to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
