RWDI is seeking a Modeler to join the Model Shop team in our Guelph office. This is a 12 month call-in contract position, hours of work may vary from 20-40 hours per week and are not always guaranteed. Key Responsibilities The role includes but is not limited to the following: Perform model storage, organization, handling, and inventory tasks to support the efficient operation of the shop Operating a variety of equipment, mainly shop equipment and hand tools, such as 3D printers, rapid prototyping machines, cameras, computers, and software (e.g. drawing) Support with building physical or electronic models and prototypes Deciphering information from 2D and 3D drawing files, sketches, photos, and maps to conceive and construct models Participating in the planning and coordination of projects Collaborating with the engineering team to problem-solve modeling issues Ensuring the project requirements are being fulfilled through ongoing communication with the project team Physical demands of the job include the ability to free-lift up to 40 lbs Skills, Knowledge & Expertise We are accepting applications from candidates with the following skills and qualifications: High school diploma and/or college diploma in architectural or engineering technology and/or woodworking diploma An aptitude for 3D conceptualization and the ability to transfer 3D skills between 3D programs.A high proficiency in computer applications with extensive knowledge of AutoCAD and work experience in SolidWorks Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy The ability to use various power/hand tools Demonstrated initiative, and independent problem-solving methods/capabilities Proven ability to successfully meet deadlines and manage several projects at once, by accurately prioritizing tasks Ability to change tasks and priorities on short notice Excellent communication skills Strong people and team skills as well as highly motivated If you possess 80% of the qualifications listed, please apply, since you may have additional skills that would align well with this role.
