Who Are We Looking For? We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Junior Data Engineer to join our growing team! We're a close-knit group building and maintaining mission-critical data products, and we need someone who can hit the ground running. This role requires a solid understanding of data engineering best practices, and experience with orchestration, data modeling, and data warehouses. You'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining production data pipelines that power customer-facing solutions. This includes everything from initial design and development through testing, deployment, and ongoing monitoring and maintenance. Data Modeling & Optimization: Collaborate with data analysts and stakeholders to define data requirements, and design efficient and effective data models within BigQuery. You?ll be optimizing queries and pipeline/dashboard performance for maximum efficiency. Custom Solutions: Serve as the dedicated data engineering resource for our Custom Solutions work, partnering closely with Data, Product, and Customer Success teams to take bespoke client requests from validated proof-of-concept through to production. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
