Western Zone is seeking two (2) permanent full-time salaried General Surgeons at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville, NL. These positions are responsible for inpatient and outpatient General Surgery services including elective and emergency surgeries. On-call obligation is on a 1:2 rotation shared between the two General Surgeons at this site.Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital is a 44-bed acute care hospital offering 24-hour emergency room services and predominantly General Surgery lists, with surgical services being expanded. Procedural Chronic Pain clinics are run weekly. The hospital is located approximately one hour's drive from Corner Brook where Western Memorial Regional Hospital is located.Western Memorial Regional Hospital is a newly constructed, state-of-the-art acute care facility that opened in June 2024, serving as a 164-bed regional referral centre for Western Newfoundland and providing services to a population of approximately 80,000 people.NL Health Services is affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador, and academic interests are encouraged and supported.Work EnvironmentStephenville and the Bay St. George region offer an exceptional quality of life.
