Cinema Politica (CP) is a non-profit exhibition and distribution network for independent political film and video made by Canadian and international artists working mostly in the documentary genre. Cinema Politica is seeking to hire a part-time Distribution Coordinator who will handle the theatrical and non-theatrical distribution of acquired titles, and provide support in the execution of distribution campaigns and activities. The Distribution Coordinator will work closely with the CP Executive Director and will be responsible for specific administrative tasks in addition to their primary duties. We are interested in proactive applicants who have a specific interest in new, creative and alternative strategies to film distribution both in traditional and online environments, and who are motivated to experiment and grow with the position. This position is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate of an applicable degree who is interested in gaining experience at a media arts organization with a global reach that is committed to creatively and critically-minded community empowerment and social justice. This is a part-time position (up to 21 hours per week) with a possibility of becoming a full-time contract position. Remuneration for the position is $20 ? $23 per hour or negotiable based on experience. The selected candidate will start in September 2026 at our Montreal (Quebec) office. Responsibilities: Distribution Coordination: Participate in the conception of distribution plans and strategies for individual titles in all markets in collaboration with team members. Participate in the creation and execution of distribution campaigns and film tours. Closely monitor and respect distribution contracts with producers, sales agents and distributors. Pursue and negotiate theatrical releases. Process orders for institutional, educational and non-theatrical bookings. Manage and track festival submissions. Oversee the subtitling and the production of DVDs, BluRays and/or DCPs. Manage, maintain and update the status of elements and digital assets for distribution. Promotion: Implement promotional and outreach strategies for individual titles conceived with the Executive Director, Communications Coordinator and the film producers. Manage promotional timelines and respect scheduling. Assist in the creation of marketing and promotional materials, and distribute publicity materials. General: Assist with data collection, research and grant writing if needed. Scout titles of potential interest to CP and invite submissions. Maintain internal distribution calendar of events and deadlines. Provide sales reports when required. Suggest areas for process improvement and fulfilling different projects. Troubleshoot autonomously and with team members. Work closely with the CP team to complete time-sensitive tasks. General: Assist with data collection, research and grant writing if needed. Scout titles of potential interest to CP and invite submissions. Maintain internal distribution calendar of events and deadlines. Liaise with the Communications Coordinator, VOD Coordinator, and Executive Director. Provide sales reports when required. Research new approaches to digital distribution. Suggest areas for process improvement and fulfilling different projects. Troubleshoot autonomously and with team members. Work closely with the CP team to complete time-sensitive tasks.
