Your time will be split between visiting active job sites, supporting crews in the field, and working from our office to coordinate projects, schedules, materials, equipment, and daily operations. You will become the primary point of contact for field issues while ensuring projects are planned, organized, and executed efficiently. You'll be trusted to make decisions, solve problems, and keep projects moving without constant oversight. You'll work closely with our Administrative Coordinator, who will support the day to day administrative functions of the business. This allows you to focus on leading operations, managing projects, supporting field crews, and delivering successful projects. This role is intended to become the operational leader of the company, working directly alongside the owner to help drive Dorner Contracting forward. *What You'll Do* * Visit and oversee multiple active job sites * Lead, mentor, and support field crews * Ensure work is completed according to plans, specifications, and company standards * Perform site layout and verify measurements before construction begins * Coordinate daily crew schedules and project priorities * Plan upcoming work and ensure materials, equipment, and labour are available * Identify and resolve issues before they impact project timelines * Maintain communication with clients, suppliers, and the owner * Complete project documentation and reporting * Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and with exceptional quality *Types of Projects* Our work includes a wide variety of outdoor construction projects, including: * Municipal playground installations * Parks and recreation projects * Shade structures * Site furnishings * Wood pergolas * Fencing * Commercial site improvements * General municipal construction Every project is different, and every day brings new challenges. *Who We're Looking For* *The ideal candidate has:* * A strong background in construction * Experience leading crews or managing construction projects * The ability to read and interpret construction drawings * Experience performing site layout * Strong organizational and time management skills * Excellent problem solving and decision making abilities * The confidence to work independently and take ownership * Strong communication and leadership skills * A valid driver's licence Most importantly, we're looking for someone who doesn't wait to be told what to do.
