*Project Manager ? Heavy Civil Construction* *Reports To:* General Manager *Location:* Wainfleet *Position Summary* The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, execution, financial management, and closeout of heavy civil construction projects for municipal clients throughout Ontario. This role oversees projects from contract award through completion while ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract documents, quality standards, environmental regulations, and client expectations. The Project Manager works closely with Superintendents, Estimator, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, municipal staff, and regulatory agencies to deliver complex infrastructure projects. *Key Responsibilities* *Project Planning & Execution* * Manage multiple municipal infrastructure projects simultaneously. * Develop project execution plans and work schedules. * Coordinate project startup, mobilization, and procurement activities. * Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract requirements. * Ensure compliance with contract obligations and municipal standards. * Lead project kickoff meetings with internal teams and subcontractors. * Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies. *Financial Management* * Prepare and maintain project budgets. * Monitor project costs and labour productivity. * Forecast monthly project financial performance. * Manage cash flow and billing schedules. * Review and approve invoices from subcontractors and suppliers. * Monitor committed costs and purchase orders. * Maximize project profitability while maintaining quality and client satisfaction. *Contract Administration* * Administer CCDC, OPSS, OPSD, and municipal contracts. * Prepare and negotiate: * Change Orders * Extra Work Orders * Claims * RFIs * Site Instructions * Progress Draws * Payment Certificates * Maintain complete project documentation. * Ensure contractual notices are issued within required timelines. *Client Relations* * Act as the primary point of contact for municipal project representatives. * Attend owner, consultant, and construction progress meetings. * Maintain positive relationships with: * Municipal Engineers * Contract Administrators * Consulting Engineers * Utility Companies * Regulatory Agencies * Resolve issues professionally and promptly. *Scheduling* * Develop and monitor project schedules using Microsoft Project or Primavera. * Coordinate sequencing of work activities. * Monitor critical path activities. * Implement recovery plans when delays occur. * Ensure milestone dates are achieved. *Procurement* * Purchase materials and supplies. * Solicit quotations from subcontractors. * Award subcontract agreements. * Coordinate delivery schedules. * Manage vendor relationships. *Construction Coordination* * Work closely with Site Superintendents. * Provide leadership to Project Formen. * Resolve technical and operational issues. * Ensure resources are available to maintain production. *Quality Management* * Ensure work complies with: * Contract Documents * Municipal Standards * OPSS * Environmental approvals * Review inspection reports. * Coordinate testing agencies. * Manage deficiencies through completion. *Health & Safety* * Promote a strong safety culture. * Ensure compliance with: * Ontario Occupational Health & Safety Act * Construction Projects Regulation (O. Reg. 213/91) * Company Health & Safety Program * Site Specific Safety Plans * Participate in incident investigations. * Ensure corrective actions are implemented. *Environmental Compliance* Ensure compliance with: * Environmental Protection Act * Erosion and Sediment Control requirements * Excess Soil Regulations * Spill Prevention Plans * Permit conditions * Municipal environmental requirements *Project Closeout* * Coordinate substantial performance. * Complete project deficiencies. * Manage warranty requirements. * Prepare as-built documentation. * Co Location Wainfleet , ON Work location On site Salary $ 75,000 to $ 95,000 YEAR annually Terms of employment Full time Starts as soon as possible vacancies 1 vacancy Source indeed.com #10224604226 Various locations Wainfleet, ON
