CURRENTLY HIRINGCompetitive Day Rate-Offshore Newfoundland Start Date: ASAPEmployment Type: Ad Hoc / Temporary JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for all tasks and duties of Systems Control / Instrumentation Technician / Electronic Technician discipline including but not limited to, installation or maintaining electrical control and instrumentation systems, i.e. electronics, programmable controllers, telecommunications, transmitters, and hydraulic, pneumatic systems.PRE-REQUISITES/QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or EquivalentInter-Provincial Journeyman's Certificate (Instrumentation) or Diploma in Instrumentation Technology1+ years previous experience in an Instrumentation/Systems role on an offshore drilling rigPrevious High Voltage and Low Voltage ExperienceRead and understand electrical drawings, schematics, and diagrams. Able to proficiently use electrical testing meters and equipment. Able to operate software application as applicable to position.Good verbal and written communication skills in EnglishMust pass Physical, Drug Screen and Background/Pre-Employment Screening ChecksDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Ensure that all instruments/PLC's/control networks/electrical equipment is maintained and repaired promptly. To investigate defects and submit reports as requiredMaintain a preventative maintenance programme in accordance with the Company's repair and preventative maintenance procedures as directed by immediate supervisorEnsure that all equipment under their control complies with statutory requirements and is maintained at all times in a safe condition or is otherwise completely withdrawn from serviceMonitor any instruments/PLC's/electrical equipment supplied by other contractors or sub-contractors to ensure that it is suitable for usePlan maintenance and repair tasks so as to minimize the effect on the drilling operationCarry out tasks as part of a multi-discipline maintenance team as operational requirements dictateAbility to read, update or modify any drawings, sketches or information on existing and replacement equipment as required or provides such information to managementOther duties as requiredThe above is intended as a summary of the key requirements for the position and is not intended to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities.It is the objective of Puglisevich to ensure employment equity within the workplace.
