We support our customers through operations located in NS, NB, NL, and PE.We're looking for a Safety & Environment Manager to lead and evolve our safety culture across all facilities. You'll spend time on the manufacturing floor and in the office, working alongside teams at every level. You will coach, influence, and collaborate.What you'll doChampion a positive, proactive safety culture across all facilities and leadership levelsLead and mentor the safety team, supporting their growth and building organizational capabilityDrive continuous improvement and training in safety programs, policies, and processesOversee incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action follow-throughLead or support preparation of responses and appeals related to safety violation citationsStay current on regulatory requirements across our jurisdictions and keep the team informedConduct audits and inspections, analyze trends, and turn findings into actionable improvementsServe as the key contact during regulatory inspections and compliance reviewsDeliver clear, timely communication to collaborators at all levelsEnsure the integrity, accuracy, and timely reporting of safety and incident dataEmbrace and leverage digital tools and emerging safety technologies to enhance how we workWhat you bringEducation in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field (or equivalent experience)5-7 years of safety experience, ideally in a unionized manufacturing environmentA professional safety designation is an assetA growth mindset - you're curious, forward-thinking, and energized by changeStrong knowledge of applicable health and safety legislation across jurisdictionsThe ability to influence and engage people at all levels with confidence and credibilityExcellent communication and presentation skills - written, verbal, and in the roomStrong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing prioritiesA collaborative, service-oriented approach - you show up, follow through, and respond promptlyAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Comfort with technology and an appetite for digital innovationMaritime Paper Products promotes career advancement opportunities across the Scotia Investments Family of Companies.We are committed to creating a diverse, inclusive environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
