This position acts on referrals from clients themselves, general practitioners, specialists and other healthcare providers. Standardized assessment and therapeutic interventions are provided to patients across the lifespan, with a wide range of complex needs including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders and personality disorders.The responsibilities include designing, implementing and evaluating the psychological interventions provided to patients; conducting advanced, independent diagnostic interviews to expedite the formulation of an appropriate treatment approach; formulating and communicating psychiatric diagnosis using DSM-5-TR; selecting and administering comprehensive psychometric tests where appropriate, including but not limited to, intellectual assessment, personality assessment, neuropsychological screening, memory assessment and vocational/aptitude testing; interpreting psychological data for diagnostic purposes; conducting group facilitation; and monitoring/prioritizing patient wait lists according to clinical needs. The Clinical Psychologist may have involvement in DBT groups.As a clinical leader, the Clinical Psychologist provides supervision to Psychology residents, Doctoral students and provisionally registered Psychologists. This position reports to the Division Manager and maintains accountability to the Professional Practice Consultant for Psychology for professional integrity issues.Job DemandsOccasionally, there is lifting or physical strength required, less than 10 lbs. for files, boxes, or equipment.Regularly sits; occasionally works in awkward/cramped positions, and stands to facilitate or teach groups.Uses fine finger/precision work when on the computer and visual concentration is required when in sessions with patients (i.e. reviewing patient charts/notes, tests and for documenting work, and when reading or researching information).Visual concentration is required to interpret patient observations and integrate into patient evaluation.Auditory concentration is constantly required in sessions with patients to listen attentively, to be alert and to obtain and interpret information correctly.A higher-than-normal level of attentiveness is required when assessing high risk patients.Job QualificationsGraduation with an approved/recognized Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology is required.Graduation with an approved/recognized Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology is required.Current and continuing registration or provisional registration with Newfoundland and Labrador Psychology Board is required.Graduate course work and supervised experience in psychological assessment including cognitive and diagnostic assessment with children, adolescent and adults is required.Graduate course work and superv Location Holyrood , NL Work location On site Salary $ 60.38 to $ 67.20 HOUR hourly Terms of employment Permanent employment Full time Starts as soon as possible vacancies 1 vacancy Source CareerBeacon #2146406 Various locations Holyrood, NL
