We are seeking an experienced, hands-on *Cafe Supervisor* who is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to leading a high-performing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced food service leader looking to grow with an expanding company that values professionalism, accountability, and operational excellence. *Position Summary* The Cafe Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the café, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, maintaining operational standards, and leading a team to consistently deliver high-quality service and products. The successful candidate is a confident leader who enjoys coaching others, solving problems, and driving results. Key Responsibilities: * Supervise the daily operations of the café to ensure smooth, efficient service. * Lead, coach, and motivate team members while fostering a positive workplace culture. * Deliver outstanding customer service and professionally resolve guest concerns. * Maintain exceptional standards for beverage quality, food presentation, cleanliness, and hospitality. * Open and close the café according to company procedures. * Delegate daily tasks and ensure operational checklists are completed. * Train, onboard, and develop new and existing employees. * Monitor labour costs and support scheduling requirements. * Receive deliveries, manage inventory, rotate stock, and reduce waste. * Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health standards. * Perform cash handling, till reconciliation, deposits, and daily reporting. * Support recruitment, employee development, and performance management. * Lead by example during busy service periods and maintain a calm, solutions-focused approach. QualificationsRequired: * *Minimum 2 years of supervisory or management experience in the food service industry* (café, restaurant, bakery, quick-service restaurant, or similar). * Proven leadership experience managing teams in a high-volume environment. * Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills. * Strong organizational, communication, and time management abilities. * Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and daily reconciliation. * Ability to multitask and perform under pressure. * Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. * Legally eligible to work in Canada. * Food Handler Certification (or ability to be certified prior to start of role) Preferred: * Specialty coffee or café experience. * Smart Serve Certification (asset). * Experience with inventory management, ordering, and labour scheduling.
