The STAR Family Health Team (FHT) is seeking a Part-Time Medical Office Assistant to support our multidisciplinary team in providing high-quality, patient-centered care. With a dynamic forward-thinking group of family physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, mental health professionals, dietitians, pharmacists, and administrative staff, the STAR FHT is committed to providing comprehensive, collaborative primary health care through two clinics in Stratford, and one clinic in Tavistock and Region (STAR). As a valuable member of the team, the Medical Office Assistant provides support to the routine operations of the allied health team. This includes, but is not limited to: * Coordinating patient care such as scheduling/updating appointments * Handling patient inquiries and referrals * Consulting and working in collaboration with our clinicians and other community partners/resources * Data entry into the electronic medical records (EMR) system * Supporting clinicians with administrative tasks as it relates to patient care What You Bring * Medical Office Administration certificate/diploma (a must) * Minimum 3 years experience working in a medical office or clinical setting * Ability to work with diverse communities with respect, sensitivity, creativity, innovation, cultural understanding and non-judgement * Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working with a team * Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, including phone and email etiquette * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Comfort working with electronic medical records (EMRs)?experience with PS Suite is an asset * Aptitude with new technologies for the purpose of scheduling (ie. Zoom, OceanMD) * Strong organizational and multitasking skills * Understanding and commitment to ensuring patient confidentiality and discretion at all times This is a permanent part-time position 2 days per week. It is not an entry level position. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Qualified and interested candidates are invited to submit a detailed resume.
