Number of Positions: 35 vacancies Anticipated Start: February 16, 2027 Hours: 30 to100 hours per week Length of Employment: 8 months -24 months, depending on weather and performance Salary: $18.25/hour Types of Farming: Vegetable crops, field and greenhouse Duties: Cultivate, seed, plant, irrigate, fertilize, spray, weed and harvest crops; detect disease and health problems in crops; set and monitor water lines, air flow, and temperature in cold-frames; sort, pack, weigh, examine for quality and prepare products for market and delivery; load and unload products and materials; operate and maintain farm machinery, equipment and trucks; store products into coolers; complete inventory sheets; clean and maintain farm machinery, equipment and buildings; comply with health and safety procedures; perform other general farm duties as required. Types of Equipment: Tractor, farm truck, tillage equipment, seed drill, planting equipment, fertilizer, crop sprayer, loader, lift truck, manure spreader, vacuum cooler, power jacks Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads (40-50lb), physically demanding, attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, ability to distinguish between colours, sound discrimination, combination of standing for extended periods, sitting, walking, bending, crouching and kneeling.
