Job Description: Here's an incredibly unique career opportunity for you to grow fresh local vegetables, have a flexible schedule, play with a huge selection of plants and work with a great and growing team! Hydroponic Duties: * Planting seeds in trays according to planting schedules * Transplanting seeds * Recording plant data to include yields and weights * Applying fertilizer to feed system * Ensuring water quality by cleaning water tanks, troughs, filters and floors regularly * Cleaning customers subscription bags * Maintaining excel spreadsheets and point-of-sale system * Talking with customers and potential customers * Bagging weekly and bi-weekly fresh greens subscriptions for customers * Working with retailers to wholesale fresh greens * Sending and receiving emails and responding to customer requests * Harvesting and delivering leafy greens * Maintaining an inventory of supplies * Various general labour tasks such as lifting, moving, and disposing of materials SCREENING CRITERIA: * Ability to lift at least 50lbs unassisted * Must be familiar with Microsoft Excel & Outlook * High school diploma or equivalent * Ability to use computers and software * Ability to work in tight spaces (must not be claustrophobic) * Ability to work in all weather conditions PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO: * Applicants with greenhouse growing and/or hydroponics experience * Applicants of Nisga'a & Indigenous ancestry * Applicants with a Driver?s License (?N? or Class 5) ABOUT US: The Gitmaxmak?ay Nisga?a Economic Development Corporation (GNEDC) is an award winning Indigenous community-owned business that operates Bob?s on the Rocks, Yaga Café Garden Co., and the Port Ed General Store.
