*Overview* We are hiring a Painter / Drywaller to join our renovation team. This position is responsible for repairing, preparing, and finishing walls and ceilings in apartment buildings and rental properties. This position plays a key role in apartment unit turnovers, renovations, capital improvement projects, and property maintenance by ensuring finished surfaces meet quality standards and are move-in ready for residents. *Duties* *Key Responsibilities* *Drywall Installation & Repair* * Repair damaged drywall in occupied and vacant apartment units. * Patch holes, cracks, water damage, and surface imperfections. * Sand and prepare surfaces to achieve a smooth, professional finish. * Match existing textures and finishes where required. *Painting & Finishing* * Prepare walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other surfaces for painting. * Apply primer, paint, and finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment. * Perform touch-up painting in occupied units and common areas. * Paint vacant units as part of apartment turnover preparation. * Ensure consistent color matching and quality workmanship. *Building Maintenance* * Perform painting and drywall repairs in hallways, stairwells, laundry rooms, offices, and other common areas. * Assist with property improvement and capital projects. * Report maintenance issues requiring additional repairs or skilled trades involvement. *Safety & Compliance* * Follow all workplace health and safety requirements. * Safely operate ladders, scaffolding, hand tools, and power equipment. * Maintain clean and organized work areas. * Properly store and handle paints, solvents, and construction materials. * Follow company policies and property standards. *Qualifications* *Education & Experience* * High school diploma or equivalent preferred. * Experience in drywall installation, drywall repair, painting, or residential renovations preferred. * Experience in apartment renovations and unit turnovers considered an asset. *Technical Skills* * Surface preparation and repair techniques. * Interior painting and finishing. * Texture matching and patchwork repairs. * Use of painting and drywall tools and equipment. * Basic carpentry and renovation experience considered an asset. *Skills & Abilities* * Strong attention to detail and workmanship quality. * Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects. * Excellent time management and organizational skills. * Ability to meet renovation and turnover deadlines. * Positive attitude is a must as well a team-oriented approach. *Physical Requirements* * Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (23 kg). * Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and climb ladders for extended periods. * Ability to work in occupied apartments, vacant units, and common areas. * Comfortable working indoors in renovation and construction environments. *Working Conditions* * Full-time position. * Work performed in apartment buildings, rental units, and renovation sites. * May require occasional overtime to meet turnover or project completion deadlines. *Performance Expectations* * Complete drywall repairs and painting to a high professional standard. * Deliver move-in-ready apartment units on schedule. * Reduce deficiencies and touch-up requirements through quality workmanship. * Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas. * Contribute to the appearance, value, and resident satisfaction of the property portfolio Join us to be part of a dedicated team committed to excellence!
