Warehouse Associate ? Book Scanning & Distribution *Location:* North York, Toronto ? near Allen Road & Sheppard Avenue *Job Type:* Full-time, 40 hours per week *Pay:* $18?$21 per hour + performance-based bonuses *Job Summary* Second Life Books is seeking *three reliable, hardworking Warehouse Associates* for our used-book processing and distribution facility near Allen Road and Sheppard Avenue in North York. Our warehouse uses a *conveyor-based processing system* to scan and process large quantities of used books for sale. The work is active and requires employees to regularly lift and move boxes of books weighing approximately *25?40 lbs*. We are looking for employees who are dependable, comfortable with physical warehouse work, and able to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy. We also have an opportunity for *one of the three employees to assist with driving and local book pickups and deliveries throughout the GTA* using our *16-foot company truck*. This employee will divide their time between regular warehouse duties and driving as required. *Key Responsibilities* * Scan and process books using our warehouse scanning system * Load and unload books onto our conveyor system * Move and organize boxes of books throughout the warehouse * Regularly lift and carry boxes weighing approximately 25?40 lbs * Assist with receiving, sorting, packing, and general warehouse operations * Maintain an organized and safe work area * Work toward established productivity and accuracy targets * Follow warehouse procedures and safety requirements *Additional Driving Opportunity* One of the employees hired will also assist with *local pickups and deliveries of books throughout the GTA* using our *16-foot company truck*. For applicants interested in the driving responsibilities: * Valid Ontario driver's licence and clean driving record required * Must be comfortable driving a 16-foot truck throughout the GTA * Must be able to load and unload boxes of books * Driving will be part of the position; the employee will also perform regular warehouse duties when not making pickups or deliveries *Qualifications* * Previous warehouse experience is an asset but not required * Comfortable using scanners and basic warehouse technology * Ability to repeatedly lift and carry boxes weighing 25?40 lbs * Dependable attendance and punctuality * Ability to work efficiently in a physically active environment * Strong attention to detail * Able to work independently and as part of a team *Compensation* * Compensation ranges from *$18 to $21* *per hour* * *Performance-based bonuses* are available for employees who exceed productivity standards * Full-time, *40 hours per week* Second Life Books is a growing used-book company that processes and sells books.
