We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented *Property Accountant* to join our growing real estate organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full accounting cycle for a portfolio of commercial and residential properties in Canada and the United States. This is an excellent opportunity for an accountant who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes ownership of their work, and enjoys collaborating with property management and operations teams. Responsibilities * Manage full-cycle property accounting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes * Prepare and review property-level financial statements and supporting schedules * Perform bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and variance analyses * Record journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts * Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and year-end audit requirements * Work closely with property managers to ensure accurate reporting and issue resolution * Monitor accounts receivable and accounts payable activities * Assist with improving accounting processes and internal controls * Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field * Minimum 3+ years of accounting experience * Experience in property accounting or real estate accounting is strongly preferred * Strong understanding of month-end and year-end accounting procedures * CPA designation or progress toward CPA is considered an asset * Advanced Excel skills * Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills * Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate: * Has experience performing similar property accounting duties independently * Demonstrates a strong work ethic and attention to detail * Is comfortable interacting with property managers and operational teams * Takes initiative and follows through on responsibilities * Can thrive in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment Compensation Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
