Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work setting: Dental practice. Denturist's practice. Tasks: Mould wax over dentures set-up. Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment. Finish metal framework of dentures. Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays. Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures. Polish and buff dentures. Technical expertise (dental): Plastering. Packing. Waxing-up. Casting. Polishing. Assembly. Area of specialization: Full dentures. Partial dentures. Orthodontic appliances. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Ability to distinguish between colours. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Hand-eye co-ordination. Large workload. Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills. Flexibility. Judgement. Team player. Accurate. Dependability. Excellent oral communication. Excellent written communication. Initiative. Interpersonal awareness. Reliability.
