Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Dusty. Noisy. Tasks: Perform minor repairs and adjustments to equipment. Operate machines to join sections of garments or other articles into finished products on a piece-work or production basis. Operate sewing machines or sew by hand. Set in sleeves, pockets, collars and other garment pieces. Use sewing guides and tension devices. Equipment and machinery experience: Button holer or button sewer. Double needle machine. Embroidery or quilter. Feller, feed-off arm. Fusing machine. Industrial sewing machine. Multi-needle machine. Serger or overlock. Single needle machine. Sewing experience: Commercial. Domestic. Garment section work. Piecework. Semi-section garment work. Whole garment. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Public transportation is available. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colours. Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Fast-paced environment. Hand-eye co-ordination. Manual dexterity. Repetitive tasks. Sitting.
